| Title: Freedom is the cost of social justice |
| Author: William
J. Felkner, President and Fellow for Welfare
and Education |
| Date: March 24, 2008 |
Extract: "Ayn Rand once said that the difference between a welfare state and a totalitarian state is a matter of time. It appears that that time is now in many parts of the world. London decides who is worthy of care and Canada holds its market captive like America holds the poor in public schools. Oppression sells its wares under the guise of "social justice" that demands that state's safety net instead become society's fabric. Once people become dependant, individual freedom is lost."

| Title: Children
at Risk: Comparisons of High-Risk Factors
for Children, RI, New England, National |
| Author: William
J. Felkner, President and Fellow for Welfare
and Education |
| Date: September
26, 2007 |
Extract: "This
data suggests that the key contributor
to the rise in “At Risk Families” in
Rhode Island is the growth of single
parent households.
The rise in single parent
households is predominately due to the rise
in unwed
mothers. The
education and family structure data suggests
that a large part of the increase
in unwed births is from an older population.
It may also be a reflection of an immigrant
population moving to RI after teen or school
years."
